Mission 46 in Habitat Marte accompanied the launch of Perseverance and the return of the Endeavour capsule



On Sunday (August 2nd) we successfully concluded the 46th mission organized by Habitat Marte space analog station. The mission started on July 25th. The 46th edition presented participants from India, Kuwait, Ireland and Brazil. The members of the mission 46 were, Julio Rezende (Brazil),  Pallavi Prasad (Ireland), Pranjal Mhatre (India), Ravva Saranya (India) and Rawan Alshammari (Kuwait). The mission also included Arvin Tan (Philippines), Davi Souza (Brazil) and Mariam Naseem (Canada) as invited researchers. It was a virtual hybrid mission with having activities in the facilities of Habitat Marte in Brazil. 

            The goal of the 46th mission was to follow-up the launch of Perseverance rover and identify possible spin-offs from the mission in order to apply in the development of future technologies supporting Mars habitats. Also during the weekend (2nd Aug ) we witnessed the return of the SpaceX capsule Endeavour from International Space Station bringing safely the NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken.

The 46th mission concluded very well with 9 days of telepresence meetings, presentations, online and offline activities. Mission outcomes were also submitted as abstracts for the 23rd Mars Society Convention. More information about the mission on www.HabitatMarte and the social media @HabitatMarte.
